Position the Cuff on Your Arm
Before starting your measurement, sit comfortably with both feet flat on the ground, and relax for 5-10 minutes to allow your heart rate and blood pressure to stabilize. Place the cuff on your bare upper arm, making sure it rests directly against your skin. Wrap it snugly, leaving just enough room to slip two fingertips underneath to confirm proper tightness.
Make sure to not not to wrap the cuff too tightly, as this may cause it to loosen or come undone during measurement.
Inflate and Deflate the Cuff
Begin inflating the cuff by quickly squeezing the inflation bulb until you no longer hear a pulse through the stethoscope. Stop when the gauge reaches 30 to 40 mmHg above your usual blood pressure level. Then, slowly release the air by twisting the screw counterclockwise, allowing the gauge to drop at a steady rate of about 2 mmHg per second.

Record Your Readings
